What happens during your first manual driving lesson in Edinburgh, from car controls and moving off to building confidence at your own pace.
Your first lesson is about feeling comfortable in the car and understanding the basic controls before anything becomes complicated.
Before you drive
Before we get moving, I’ll check your licence, eyesight requirements and driving position, then talk you through the main controls.
Moving off and stopping
You will normally practise observations, clutch control, moving off, steering and stopping in a suitable quiet area.
No pressure to rush
The first-time driver deal is two hours for £80, giving a complete beginner more time to settle in without watching the clock.
